HDA Board of Directors Amplify Role and Value of Distribution With Members of Congress During HDA Hill Day

On April 19, members of the Board of Directors had the opportunity to discuss the role and value of healthcare distribution with their congressional representatives and senators during an HDA-hosted Hill Day. Twenty members of the Board and their executives traveled to Capitol Hill for 14 congressional meetings — 10 of which were at the member level.

Board members met with the following offices:

  • Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-Ohio)
  • Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.)
  • Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-Fla.)
  • Rep. Earl "Buddy" Carter (R-Ga.)
  • Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pa.)
  • Rep. Yvette Clarke (D-N.Y.)
  • Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas)
  • Rep. Valerie Foushee (D-N.C.)
  • Resident Commissioner
    Jenniffer González-Colón
    (R-Puerto Rico)
  • Rep. Brett Guthrie (R-Ky.)
  • Rep. John Joyce (R-Pa.)
  • Rep. David Kustoff (R-Tenn.)
  • Rep. Greg Landsman (D-Ohio)
  • Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.)

"We had important discussions around the future of the healthcare supply chain and how lessons learned through COVID can be applied moving forward as [legislators] consider additional policies on how to strengthen the pharmaceutical and healthcare ecosystem," said HDA's President and CEO Chip Davis, reflecting on the visits.

Following the meetings, Board members were joined by elected officials and guests, as spotted by POLITICO, at HDA's Open House reception to see our new headquarters located in downtown Washington, D.C. The location provides HDA's members and team greater access to policymakers as we voice our perspectives on relevant and impactful legislation. "HDA and our members have a lot of work to do moving forward … we now have a great spot to call home from which we can [take on our new strategic initiatives]," said Davis.

HDA thanks all members and leaders for participating in this critical work to advocate for our sector. Access HDA's advocacy toolkits here by logging in with your email and HDA password. Reset your password here.
